Out of the Greece Mythology as it is told DÄDALUS was the master builder of the Labyrinth for King Minos of Crete who kept in there the Minotaur – half bull, half man – the man eater beast. Dädalus disclosed the secret with the red thread to escape the Labyrinth to Ariadne, the daughter of King Minos. She shared this secret with Theseus and he was able to kill the beast. The furious King Minos put Dädalus and his son Ikarus in prison into the labyrinth. But the build wings from wax to escape. Ikarus was drunken by flying high and higher coming to close to the sun. The wax wings melted and Ikarus tumble in the ocean. His father was driven more to reach freedom as to flying and he escaped safe to Sicily.
